Those three houseguests then competed to win the first Head of Household (HOH) competition by building a drum set puzzle, and Daniel emerged victorious. The winners of the three Big Brother 24 games were Monte Taylor (Potty Talk), Matt "Turner" Turner (Piercing Tent), and Daniel Durston (Hanging Tough). The games were "Potty Talk" at the Porta Potties, in which contestants had to listen to crowds of people and count how many times numbers were mentioned "Piercing Tent" in which the houseguests had to clip pieces of jewelry onto their faces in the correct order shown on a screen and "Hanging Tough" during which the players had to hold on to a t-shirt that lifted them from the ground without falling. Houseguests entered the Big Brother house to grab a ticket from one of the rooms, which they then scanned in the backyard in order to find out in which game they would compete. The theme of Big Brother 24is "BB Fest." The show kicked things off with a series of three festival-themed competitions. The Big Brother 24 premiere delivered on the show's motto of "expect the unexpected" as Joe "Pooch" Pucciarelli became the Backstage Boss and chose three other contestants, Paloma Aguilar, Alyssa Snider, and Brittany Hoopes, to join him backstage, but America has the opportunity to vote to save one of them.
